Gozo Minster Giovanna Debono has just launched a DVD - A Tale of Two Towers - detailing the history of the Santa Maria tower in Comino and the Dwerja tower.
The creative piece was produced with the assistance of Din l-Art Ħelwa and the financial support of the ministry.
Mrs Debono said that the documentary is another great tool which should be used to promote Gozo and could also be the perfect souvenir to remind visitors of their holiday on the island.
A Tale of Two Towers includes loads of interesting information about the importance of these two tours and why they are essential to Gozo. The documentary also goes into detail about the problems which arose during the construction and financing of the towers and also delves into the lives of those involved in the design, maintenance and preservation.
The Gozo Minister praised the work carried out by Din l-Art Ħelwa, especially the restoration of various historic sites, such as these towers. She added: "Thanks to the help and decication of NGOs that are involved in the preservation and promotion of Gozitan heritage, more sites are now being restored and made accessible to the public."
The DVD can be purchased for €10 at Din l-Art Ħelwa in Valletta. Proceeds from its sale will go towards the towers' maintenance.
