Helicopter
By far the fastest way of travelling between the islands of Malta and Gozo is by helicopter. There is a daily schedule of flights between Malta International Airport and Xewkija Heliport in Gozo which take 15 minutes.
Malta Air Charter also operates sightseeing flights for tourists who wish to see the islands from the air.
Horse Drawn Carriages
A lovely way to see the sites is from the old fashioned splendour of a horse drawn carriage or karozzin.
These can be found in Valletta, Sliema, St.Julians and Mdina and the drivers can recommend a variety of sightseeing routes. As with taxis it is best to agree a fare before setting off.
Cycling
Cycling is a great way to get up close to the super countryside of Malta. There are plenty of hire shops to kit you up for a two-wheeled excursion.
It is advisable to research your route though as some areas can be very hilly. Also make sure you take enough water as the heat of the day during the summer months can be very draining.
