Maltese ferries

Malta - Gozo

There is a regular car and passenger ferry service linking Cirkewwa in the north of Malta with Mgarr in Gozo and the trip takes about 20 minutes.
The ferries usually run every 45 minutes but the schedule is subject to seasonal change so check the timetables before planning a trip.
Return fares in 2010 are as follows:
  • Standard passenger: €4.65
  • Children 3-12 years: €1.15
  • Car and driver: €15.70

Sliema - Valletta

By far the nicest way to visit central Valleta is via the Sliema - Valletta ferry link. Avoid parking problems and traffic jams with this fun and convenient option.
The boat sails every half hour or so during the day but watch out for restricted services on Sundays and public holidays. The trip only takes about 10 minutes and affords spectacular views of the Valletta waterfront.
Fares are 75 cents each way
