Rubino's is a charming restaurant conveniently located in the centre of Valletta. Established in 1906 in an old confectioners, Rubino's is now run by Michael and Karl Diacono who serve a varied selection of Maltese and Italian cuisine.
The focus is on traditional Maltese recipes re-created with the freshest ingredients and a modern twist. The extensive menu offers local specialities such as baked pasta, stuffed vegetables and a selection of mezes served with the famous Valletta crusty bread.
Rubino's makes use of Malta's fantastic natural produce with fish featuring heavily on the menu. The impressive wine cellar has plenty of local and Italian wines to compliment the delicious food. Diners should make sure they don't miss out on the restaurant's fabulous desserts. Rubino's is renowned for the gorgeous Cassata Siciliana and the Cannoli, both of which are made to order.
The converted building, which still has the wonderful original façade, is just off Valletta's main street close to the Manoel Theatre. Intimately arranged over three floors, Rubino's has a welcoming, homely atmosphere which has long been popular with regular clients, business elite, holiday-makers and even visiting film crews.
