Malta's Classic Car Museum is a very popular tourist attraction, but not just for classic car enthusiasts.
The museum is, for many, a nostalgia trip where you can view painstakingly restored cars that you might once have owned, still own or dreamed about owning. The museum was the lifelong dream of classic car aficionado Carol Galea who has brought his dream to life with a collection of over eighty vehicles.
Located in the busy resort of Qawra the 3000m2 museum is nothing short of a tribute to the automobile industry. It features a "living" collection of cars, both old and more recent models, which evolve as the museum acquires new stock.
The current collection spans fifty years of motor manufacturing with a huge range of classics such as Alfa Romeo, Austin, Jaguar, Fiat, Ford, MG, Mini, Sunbeam and Triumph. As well as the old beauties the museum is also home to the some of the latest models of BMW, Jaguar and Ferrari.
It is not only the extensive auto display the museum also has some classic motorbikes such as BSA, Lambretta and Vespa, various items of memorabilia including jukeboxes and slot machines, a bar (open all day) and a gift shop.
There is also a cinema screening films relating to cars, from the golden age of grand prix for example.
